Well last night I piggy backed onto a friends card class and I had forgotten how much fun it was with a group of ladies creating master pieces... perhaps it's has given me the motivation to clear out my craft room so at least if I found some ladies to attend we'd have somewhere to play...
We made these cards... plus one calender...
So so much fun!!!!

Pink Ribbon Breakfast
Hello,
On Saturday 23rd October, I am hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to raise money for breast cancer research and I would like to invite you!
What is a Pink Ribbon Breakfast? It’s a get together for friends, family and workmates to have fun, celebrate the achievements of breast cancer research and to raise funds for further research.
Did you know One in nine Australian women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, which means most of us know someone affected by it, which is why I need your help.
We probably all know of someone who has been touched by cancer and by participating in this breakfast we can all do a little something to help find the cure.
Throughout the morning there will be a mini craft classes, a crafty bra competition, Stampin’ Up! ® Product Raffles, a BBQ Bacon & Egg Breakfast and Pink Ribbon merchandise for sale, with all monies raised contributing to essential breast cancer research.
I look forward to seeing you in pink at my breakfast!
Thank you!!

Creating Your Own Backgrounds
Today I focused on making my own backgrounds / papers. This is when you take a stamp and stamp over the entire cardstock including OFF the edge. This allows you to use certain colours, certain stamps and really is just a great resource when using limited supplies.
Below are two of the cards I made and I'll add more over the next day as some of my creations haven't dried yet.

Mosaic Technique
I saw this technique on Split Coast Stampers and just had to have a play. Unfortuantely I'm still not 100% happy about the gaps between the "tiles" but will try it again when I get some more spare rubber.
I will be designing a class around this technique in the coming months so if you interested register your interest to get your preferred date.

Helping Hudson Challenge
This week I managed to grab a few moments to put together a card for challenge held over on the Helping Hudson Blog. You can get more information about Helping Hudson and the journey taken to help this little boy gain more of his independence by clicking on the blinkie to the left.
This challenge used a selection of three colours.

And here is my entry...

Super Excited
Now I’m getting super excited about my first Australian craft class, I ran classes for about six months back in New Zealand, with classes ranging from 1 person other than myself to 8 surrounding my 6 seater dining room table. I am so lucky that my husband stepped aside and let me use his office as my classroom and it won’t be long now until it’s fully set up. But for now I have set up tables and chairs to sit my wonderful attendants so they can start making creative masterpieces and things that they can be proud to share with their loved once.
My first class is based on a technique called patchwork quilt. We are going to be making a gift box and a greeting card very similar to this one.

We will be working with two different designer papers which in turn provides different matching colours.
If you attend you’ll be able to choose between

So pop over to either Meet Up or my page on Facebook to reserve your space in my up and coming craft room.
